They’re mean, they’re green…
… they’re vandalising stop signs on the highway to hell.

busted, maybe

April 21, 2009 at 8:46 am (mischief) (, )

Despite being preoccupied with plotting, cranky at people who refused to get out of my way fast enough, and trying to decide book or iPod for the tram home (both), I still had mind enough to think that guy getting off the tram looks a lot like a Mythbuster. Really. The stumpy one with the beret and moustache. Even the khaki clothing scheme.  So maybe that’s a myth busted… reality wins.

Impish

April 18, 2009 at 3:28 pm (morningside) (, , , )

Hanging out with the IMP crew today and I think I almost have the end of their story in sight. Still missing most of the the story line featuring Merle and the Captain but that will come… soon, hopefully. In the meantime I’ll savour Isolde. I love this bit:

“It starts with budgies,” Isolde said gloomily. “Then it’s cats, and before you know it, your gator’s gone. This whole sacrifice for love thing is cracked.”

And to think I never meant to mess with anything Arthurian…

buffed

April 15, 2009 at 11:01 am (mischief, morningside) (, , , , , )

Walked out the door this morning and got an inadvertant facial thanks to squally gale force winds blowing straight up the street from the beach. Ouch. And I’d just applied lipgloss. Still made it to the tramstop at the end of the line though I walked blind for a few steps . . . because I’m too stubborn to wait at the closest stop, of course.

Also buffed and polished today is Incognition available from Katarr Kanticles Press, AmazonLulu & Smashwords with its pretty shiny Carter Brown inspired cover by KSeriphyn Designs.

Men are a mystery to Blaise, especially the dark gloomy specimen who interrupts her recon of a conservatory facility. It’s even more of a mystery why she bothers saving his skin when he reports her presence to his ex-colleagues.

five and one

Because that’s an acceptable ratio of good to bad, right? Especially when the one might not be all that bad… okay, get that out of the way first:

  • No Labyrinth Masquerade in Melbourne this year. Drat. But as the email said, that’s more time to create a costume for the 2011 event and it also means the Random One can be dragged along instead of running amok in the UK as she is this July.

Good things:

  • Long weekend!
  • Started building my Hollow Heart playlist. It’s fun, it’s weird, and I’m looking forward to choreographing a fight scene to “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” Don’t know yet who else is involved besides Scarlet.   Read the rest of this entry »

blindsided

April 5, 2009 at 11:26 am (Pandora's Edge) (, , , , )

Why are short stories scary? Because sometimes they grow when you’re not looking. They wink out of the file, all coy and glittery, saying look at me, I’m really a novel… see? I just saw the next two Pandora’s Edge books so I guess I’ll be doing NaNoWriMo this year.
