taking a walk
Through Roald Dahl’s writing shed . . . here . . .
The Witches would have to rate highly on my favourite book list. The movie version with Rowan Attkinson, Brenda Blethyn & Bubbles (what is her real name?) is one I’ve been regretting not owning lately, despite the kid’s accent. I’ll have to find the latest version of my wish list.

After time off for bad behaviour – or plotting – the next check point is past. That’s actually a double goal because it’s the 50 000 within NaNo timeframe, plus the 10 000 from the combined short stories at the heart. Which went a little astray while the plot was evolving but I think I have it now, thanks to stepping back from the mess for a few days. I just have to be good and work through the notes to The End.

Heh, give the subconscious an hour off for good behaviour. She dragged out a sentence that sounded like a quote. Okay, my main character is a literate guy, he quotes… he recognises there’s already a Shakespearian influence at work… but when I look it up, I appreciate her sneakiness. This particular quote is of the traitorous thane of Cawdor. And Thane happens to be the protagonist’s name.

five thirty
Last night at 5.30 it was still light! Just one of those hey moments that left me grinning, which I needed as my minor rebellion re word count ended yesterday. I’m not quite back on target but I’m working the segues and links, clarifying points for my subconscious to figure out the actual ending.
She also likes listening to “Into the Ocean” by Where’s Jerome, a catchy track courtesy of iTunes freebies.

would Mlle like her catsuit?
Yes, Mademoiselle would like her cat-suit brushed off for she has met her inner villain and is now swishing before mirrors, admiring her scary-cool straight hair. The black-and-purple is long-term, the sleekness extremely temporary. Curls will have their way. But before Mlle dons the catsuit she must fulfil her daily world count quota.
Drats.
Highlight of visting Wildilocks besides the hair love, is the reading material: Coilhouse & Fiend, today. And, mon chere, there be inspiration in the visuals. Those vampire characters who’ve dominated the pages lately? Gotta be steampunk flavoured. I have a list of sites to check out including some sort of coffee machine. That’s also after the quota.

Ow, ow, ow. Deleting hurts. And it was babble anyway, just notes and potential threads filling in white space while the actual plot evolved. But it really hurt because then I had to compensate for the deleted to make my self-imposed word count. At least the vampires arrived.
