About
Welcome to a city full of mists and miracles, rituals and secrets, with a Dark Angel as a guardian.
Originally a one-off short story, Angel was such a delicious character to write she quickly demanded more; more falling stars and misplaced objects, more broken hearts… more mysteries. Thus a series was born.
“Alluring, tantalizing, whimsical, WHEN STARS FALL is all that and more…take that first sip of Kate Smith’s ‘SIREN’S GATE’ series, and look out for more to come.” Sputnik57
The plan was to use a dedicated Siren’s Gate site to get me back into writing the series, but as with many of my plans it grew when I wasn’t looking to encompass various other projects: Pandora’s Edge, Morningside, Wolf Hollow, Rogue Mapping, IMPs … they all link up anyway.
Somehow.
Someday soon.

Hi,
My name is Michael and I’m a fellow WordPress.com blogger.
A couple of days ago, while doing some random searching across the web, I came across a blog on Blogger.com – I also discovered that the author had “re-posted” one of my fiancee’s poems without permission and was trying to pass it off as his own writing.
After doing some additional checking, I discovered that almost all of the written content on that site had been “cut and pasted” verbatim from WordPress bloggers. Your post: “structurally sound” was one of them.
I don’t know if you gave permission for that person to “re-post” your writing, but in the event that you did not, I wanted to make you aware of the situation.
You can see the “re-post” at: http://peeling-back-layers.blogspot.com/2009/01/structurally-sound.html
Best Regards,
- michael -

Thanks Michael!
I certainly didn’t give that … idiot… permission.

That could quite possibly be the best place to live. Ever.

With flavours such as cinnamon and fig ripple just a stroll away, life is sweet. But my inner hillbilly is suggesting a return to the hills could be better.

Well, make sure you’re fully comfortable before such a life altering event takes place. It would be sad for you to move and then 2 months later begin to crave the taste sensations dancing upon your tongue or the soothing lullaby of the distant shore lapping at your mind.

Having gone out for walk around the weirdly twisting lanes and broader streets I do remember why I like this inner-city suburb: it’s a sprawling version of the Shoreside district I built into my fictional town before I even moved here. So I’m good for now. Still … trees! To climb, and dream under, and watch as the wind bows them down.
Can I fit another palm into my lounge room?
